Aesthetician treating a patient's acne

Did You Know That Treating Acne May Be Covered By Medical Insurance?

When you think of aesthetics, the image of new age music playing while someone rubs scented lotions into your skill may come to mind. Contrary to what you may think, at IgniteRx, some skin problems, such as cystic acne, are actual medical conditions that require proper medical care.

But did you know that treatment of skin conditions can be covered by PPO medical insurance?

At IgniteRx, our Aesthetician treats numerous dermatological conditions including cystic acne, cutaneous absences, acne vulgaris, hyperpigmentation, scarring, painful oozing pustules, open and closed comedones (i.e., whiteheads/blackheads) and skin that is red, tender to the touch and swollen.

Medical Aesthetic Treatments include:

Microdermabrasion is the removal dead skin cells to stimulate the growth of new cells. This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage, and stretch marks, as well as reduce age spots and blackheads.

Chemical Peel:

A chemical peel is the application of a chemical substance such as glycolic acid (AHA) or salicylic acid (BHA) that gently exfoliates the surface. A series of peel treatments improves the appearance of superficial lines and uneven pigmentation while making your skin look softer, smoother, and more radiant. The treatments also open pores and reduce acne breakouts.

The unique Vortex-Fusion® serum delivery system is what sets the HydraFacial MD® apart from other procedures. The multi-step treatment cleanses, evenly exfoliates and extracts to remove impurities and dead skin cells while, at the same time, replenishing vital nutrients including antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid. Thanks to the devices’ superior delivery system, these performing ingredients are able to more effectively help mitigate environmental damage, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and plump and firm skin for long-term results you can see and feel instantly.

Micro-Needling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a minimally invasive treatment to rejuvenate the skin. A device with fine needles creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. Results can include improved texture and firmness, as well as a reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.

Does Your Insurance Cover Acne Treatment?

Because cystic acne and other skin ailments are recognized as true medical conditions, some of the above-mentioned treatments CAN be covered by most PPO insurance. To find out if your treatments are covered by your insurance plan, please make an appointment with our Family Nurse Practitioner, Nicole Curtis, and ask for a referral to our Aesthetician, Ashley Denhalter. A referral is REQUIRED for insurance processing.
